So, just say by some miracle she survives but has brain damage. What will happen to her because, technically she is still an inmate.

im sure she is on a ventilator so her body can work while it flushes the drug out. that drug binds to fat and tissue so it can take time to get out of her system and im sure it didnt help that it didnt go into a vein. I think i read it can take like 10 to 15 days to flush out depending on her kidneys and liver functions. I believe they might be able to try dialysis to help but the fact it didnt go into the blood stream they may not be an option.

It does take days to determine full brain death as well so it may be the cause for delay in information. If it’s found that she is brain dead and her medical decision maker doesn’t want to pull the plug the state COULD require that person to take over the financial burden by keeping her on life support.

If she is still vented then she will be unconscious unless they decide it is time to back off some of the meds to see if she will wake up some. I’m sure they will do trial runs to see just what the actual state she is in. I went through this multiple times with my mom and she always said ole up when the meds were reduced.
