For years, I told myself certain things would happen when the time was right.But caregiving has taught me something different. Sometimes the opportunity was already there. What I didn't have was the information. The structure. The courage to say no. The boundaries to protect myself. Or simply a plan that showed me what to do next. I can look back at parts of my own caregiving journey and see things I probably could have changed earlier. Not because I should have known everything—but because once I learned differently, I was able to move differently. So today, I don't always ask, “Is this the right time?” Sometimes I ask: “What am I missing that would help me move?” That question can change everything. Things never slowed down.
