@matttoresco: Patient experience should not be the emotional introduction to a decision it cannot influence. On Building the Noise, Tiffany Westrich-Robertson put it plainly: “we are more than a supplemental story. We are the driver of the solutions.” She described moving away from treating patient accounts as a supplement to other evidence. The goal is for those experiences to influence decisions. My takeaway: inviting someone to speak is not the same as giving their evidence a role. For pharmaceutical leaders, researchers and advocacy teams, I would make that role explicit before asking anyone to participate. What question are we trying to answer? How will we collect and analyze experiences? Who will use the findings? How will patients hear what changed? A collection of accounts still needs a clear method and honest limits. It does not become representative simply because it gets larger. But methodological care should strengthen patient evidence, not become an excuse to keep it outside the decision. The standard I want us to meet is straightforward: show the connection between what patients told us and what we did next. What is one decision your organization changed because of patient input? #PatientExperience #PatientEngagement #PatientEvidence #PatientAdvocacy #PatientVoice
