@thelegalqueen: Your ex sends a message. Your stomach drops. Suddenly, you’re spending your evening defending yourself. Unless something genuinely needs urgent attention, give yourself time before replying. Ask yourself what actually needs an answer? Then Keep it brief keep it factual then get back to your evening save this for the next time you feel pulled into an argument. ##thelegalqueen##coparenting##separation##divorce

Hi, just looking for a bit of advice, I'm in a domestic abuse marriage, but mentally and physically and have been for 40 years and married for 22 years, husband is self employed and has a limited company, he has massive savings and I have no access to money at all as he will not have a joint bank account and hasn't done for 20 years, I have applied for divorce and that is going through but I'm unsure of what to do next, I am ment to have an appointment next week with a solicitor about the financial situation but I just can't afford it, what I need to know is if I divorce him but stay in the same house and don't go for half of everything what will happen if say he died or something what would happen to the financial side of things, would I still get the money and house etc if I just stop at the divorce?

Email only and give it 24 hours to process. If in 24 hours it’s not important then don’t reply

I used to wait at least 30 mins to reply to every text. I found it stopped things getting out of control.

Hells bells! :
can an ex's solicitor refuse to answer your emails directly if you didnt reply through a solicitor to try to save money. all I asked was in August they said a divorce had been applied for but have not received any paperwork could they confirm that divorce has been filed.

I do that, and he accuses me of being “non-communicative” to my solicitor and the social worker. I only respond if it actually needs an answer, or is an emergency. My mental health has taken a battering the last decade, and its only recently I’ve taken the decision to protect myself and my wellbeing.

That still happens to be when my current partner rings me. Let alone my ex. In fact, I'd rather my ex rang me

But isn’t this the fault of the person then? My ex used to do this all the time ‘you’re interrupting me and I feel pressured’ if you respond and start discussion I feel a lot of people manipulate this when it’s not going their way and now you’re the issue
