@from.surviving.to3: The question must get without understanding what leaving can actually require. Sometimes leaving means starting over financially, finding a new home, changing your number, cutting off people you love, involving the courts, relocating, or constantly protecting your privacy because someone still believes they are entitled to access and control over you. Some survivors don’t walk away and immediately get peace. They have to fight to create it. I left with my children, he and his mom found me continued to cause harm his mom called cys on me they tried to take my children the court took them because I self medicated with drugs, my ex and his mom didn't get the kids. I did wrong but I thought that using was my only way to cope I was wrong I'll never forgive myself for that

Restraining order didn't stop nothing, every time I left he came got me, that last time I moved 18 hrs away but he managed to show up but I had protection then and had no choice but to leave, my dad was my biggest hero 🙏🙏🙏

I've been hiding since 2016. Left my home, threw my phone in the ocean, moved 3 states away. I endured it for 4 years. Then he broke my neck and back. Took me 2 years to heal. Loaded what I could and kept driving until I reached Alabama 💜💜💜💜💜

I left states with a 10 month old and 3 months pregnant, then didn't hear from him moved back he payed child support finally after almost 5 years I receive it through paypal so after years of no contact our last physical time in each other presence he tried hitting me from back seat while I was driving with our 10 month old in car and me 3 months pregnant with his other daughter. He contacts me through that asking about children who doesn't remember him and one who's he's never met in person so I get a dvcpo ex parte then they cant find him, so I figure out another way to serve him so I can get the dvcpo extended hopefully to 5 years. I moved on yet after years hes still trying to be controlling. Panic attacks are back after years of healing. So back to therspy I go. He still has control over me that way and I hate that.

I got away by moving back to my hometown. I didn’t let him know where I was. That is what saved me I was able to get away from him when he went jail. I also had to change my number. He would still try to get in touch with me on Facebook. But I never answered any messages or excepting a friend request from him. I thank his he helped me get out and my family help me stay strong helped me pick up all the broken pieces.
