I think this is the result of the literacy crisis and lack of critical thinking in the US. If you try to debate or chat about certain topics, many people legitimately cannot see nuance or hold multiple ideas at the same time.

I am unable to make any personal social media regarding this topic, but I would love to shoot you a DM with some questions that would be helpful to address that I keep seeing come up again and again regarding this case. No need to respond to me directly unless you would like to. It just makes me sad that there is almost an intentional effort on behalf of the media to push out misinformation about this case, particularly about how higher education institutions versus the criminal justice system investigates these allegations, as well as the notion of what constitutes as evidence versus an admission of guilt in the court of public opinion, and the difficulties in charging and convicting perpetrators of drug facilitated assault. The way this is being presented in mainstream. Media is actually doing a lot of harm for overall community safety and for survivors knowing what their options are after experiencing an assault. Ultimately our goals as a community is to stop assaults from happening, and nothing in the news cycle is aimed at anything but dividing the public opinion about multiple aspects of this case

A+ take, and a lot of what I been feeling about this whole thing. It sucks that nuance doesn't spike the algorithm, so this type of opinion gets drowned out by all of the louder voices. Thanks for putting it out there.

Really good take. I think the one thing missing is raising your daughter to take accountability for her bad decisions. So many women are raised believing that women are nearly perfect and anything bad they do is someone or something else's fault.
