as a dm i once gave my players a house to investigate. it was a normal house. they decided to overthink it and jump in from the window, causing damage to themselves with broken glass for no reason.

One of my players (after disguising herself as one of the BBEG’s and killing two of his lieutenants in a room full of other lieutenants in a secret lair; so many nat 20s), threw one of the other party members at a DIFFERENT BBEG who was summoning a demonic entity. BBEG #2 was holding a demonic book, demonic book started consume party member #2’s soul and she immediately went into death saves. They got out alive but it was hilarious.

My party beat a bbeg today by using switchie on a hut spell to make a safe area for us. This area gave us the time to summon a 10x10 sphere that housed 400 firebombs and therefore created a black hole. This housed black hole was then thrown at the retreated bbeg. This then put our hut in a pocket dimension. Of which we switchied a banishment to put the party back on our original plane of existence
