So many questions! You live in a luxury apartment in Uptown Charlotte and applied to public housing in Puerto Rico?How did you apply for housing if you live outside the island? The waiting list is very long here for public housing as 45% of the island is below poverty level. Also, will you be in a Caserio? If so, know many of them are so dangerous you cannot ven have visitors come over safely. Are you okay living without electricity and water for long periods? The average hourly wage here is $11 an hour and jobs are scarce. Take all of that into account. Do you speak Spanish? If not, job choices are even more limited.

As someone who lives in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, please think about it life is not all peaches and cream over here you will be giving up a lot of conveniences you have in the the states, like basic running water 💦 and electricity as crazy as it sounds but it is the reality we live here on the island. Not to mention other things like shopping. Foods that you may like that you may not find here , and amazon prime is really not a thing here, just a few things to consider.

Go visit.. see for yourself and do research on the neighborhood. You definitely can get a job in PR but the pay scale is lower, it’s an island not a city so there’s electricity and water outages. With all that I just said I plan on going home in a few years 🤷🏽♀️
