My husband has an implanted ICD. The scanners at the airport will SHUT IT OFF. Insist on a hand pat down.

I just went thru scanners at Milwaukee airport with my pump. I asked TSA at the scanners what to do. They said go through. No prob!

The other day at the air port I told them I had type one and that I needed a hand check as I were monitors. The girl hand pat me then we had to go to a private room so they could “ see “ it?. I’ve never had that happen before like literally they had me in the room for 5 seconds just to pull down my pants

This should be on replay at the TSA lines everywhere! I have been argued with and told it's perfectly fine to go through! Nothing says have a happy vacation than the time the machine does actually cause a malfunction because a TSA agent claimed to know better than my manufacturer.

I’ve argued with uninformed TDA about which scanner to go thru, finally I told her she would be responsible for replacing anything the scanner broke. She understood then.

I have a spinal cord stimulator and I am only supposed to have a pat down. However, most TSA agents push for me to just go through the equipment even though I have a manufacturer card saying it isn't safe. As a professional, what do you think is the best way to handle that? I usually just say I'm not comfortable doing it, but the back and forth can be ridiculous.

We need more TSA agents just like you. I’ve traveled a lot wearing my diabetes tech- having to stand firm on protecting my tech and my health. It’s maddening. Thank you for being you and I hope someday to come through your queue, knowing I’ll be safe and without the stress.

That’s crazy because I had a medical bag with me and it’s on the front of my bag. It says medical bag and I had juice juices like three juices because I was going on a trip for seven days so three juices wasn’t enough, but I just brought it just to have something and they were juice boxes. They weren’t even like full-size bottles or anything. They were literally juice boxes and the TSA agent told me I had to dump them because no liquids above 3 ounces or some rule that she was saying so I had to end up dumping my juice boxes mine I told her I was diabetic that’s why I had all this supplies and snacks and all these things and she made me dump it out and I was so upset
