At first this story is going to be quite comical because it’s about a stick fight, but there are some very insightful moments caught on body cam that need to also be shared. That is why this will be a multi part post. Part 1 - On January 10, 2026, Officer Mobley had been driving along SE Eastgate Way when he drove up on two Porchlight clients having a stick fight in the street. We requested the traffic cam footage, but it didn’t exist. Bellevue Records said that traffic camera wasn’t working. We asked around. Questions like: why is the camera not functioning, how long has it been out of service and when will it be back on? Crickets… So, we made a body cam request. We just want to see this fight. We have already imagined it in our minds. Two adult men in the street in the middle of the night stick fighting. Sounds kind of entertaining. We already knew nobody was seriously hurt so it’s okay to laugh a little. Come on, a stick fight! Can’t make this up. The reality - an officer rolls up on the scene and jumps into action. Telling the men to get on the ground likely, sharing that he had two proned out over the air, this felt a little tense… also on the air you could hear a large response to the call to back up Officer Mobley. The air was closed until both subjects were detained. We have the footage finally, but it doesn’t show the fight. We paid for this footage with page donations. Therefore, we are sharing it regardless. The victim’s face is blurred for protection and this was done by the Bellevue Police Department. #BellevueWA #PorchlightMensShelter #Eastgate
