I lived that life, you can't save someone who doesn't put 150% in to be saved.

I'm an addict myself having been in a cycle of addiction while my partner also battled it. It took me leaving and us healing on our own and getting sober on our own. 2.5 years later we are sober and living a beautiful life with our daughter together. We do heal. I can understand how someone who doesnt experience addiction patterns themselves might not be able to be everything someone needs at that vulnerable time. It takes a lot of patience and understanding and letting go of control of the outcome. Can you love this person even if they never are the same or have the same sparkle as what you remember them to have even 5 or 10 years into sobriety that person may never be the same. On the contrary they may be 10× better too. I'm so blessed to have made it out. This is the type of work that goes into sobriety. Having someone who understands the struggle is crucial in my opinion.

Anyone who has an addict in the family knows how hard it is. You can want to and give them everything to do so but only they can do it.

You guy's talking about the booze in her house has nothing to do with him relapsing he can go to a bar or liquor store to drink. I'm 36 years sober if I went to drink the last excuse would not be me drinking because there was booze in my house it would be my fault my decision to do it not anyone eles

Not only would she not remove the alcohol in her house, she was constantly getting drunk around him. She also made a comment about him realizing quickly her career in the public was going to be something else but really I think he realized pretty quick how she was changing.
