Service companies are the furthest thing from turnkey. You have to know what you’re doing and will be very involved unless you can luck into/pay kick ass foremen. Those numbers don’t tell you how much time you’d have to spend managing crews/equipment, being on call every waking minute for site emergencies, and the stress of dealing with injury/death liabilities on a daily basis. They are profitable, but they also come and go. Once your employees see they are doing all of the physical work and think they know more than you, they will start their own service company and use the contacts they’ve made on sites to pick off your customers.
