it's fascinating that she managed to maintain basically the same tone throughout her 80's career. but by late 1990 when I'm Your Baby Tonight came out, she suddenly developed a new velvety tone (which i think a lot would agree is her best tone in her entire career). from there on the tonal changes would be more frequent but hey we live for it lol
