@noatishby: On October 7th, Hamas terrorists stormed Eli Sharabi’s home in Kibbutz Be’eri, murdered his wife and two daughters, and dragged him into Gaza. He spent 491 days in a tunnel. Now, for the first time since that morning, Eli is seeing in detail what happened. The stories of October 7, the stories of his captivity, and a nation united fighting for his safe return. Eli said, “To understand someone fighting for you and they doesn’t know you, that’s amazing.” I was honored to walk with him through “We Shall Rise,” an immersive exhibition on the rooftop of Azrieli in Tel Aviv. Ziv Koren has been photographing every single day since the morning of October 7. Noam Horev put it into words. Together they built something that is not about what was taken from us, but about the fact that we are still here. Still breathing. Still living. Thank you Eli for your courage, and for sharing this with me. We Shall Rise runs through October 30. If you’re in Israel, you have to go.
