To answer that question, I think shaming criminology students or any course for that matter says more about the person doing the shaming than those being targeted. Intelligence isn't just about knowing how to convert files or understanding arithmetic sequences. It's also about the character, the respect, and the emotional intelligence. What's the use of being smart if we lack basic decency and manners? Smart shaming and course shaming are toxic mindsets that discourage people from pursuing their passions and discredit the value of different fields. Now, when we talk about criminology, it's not just about technical skills. It's about law enforcement, public safety, criminal behavior analysis, and upholding justice in a real-world knowledge that requires discipline, dedication, and critical thinking. The assumption that criminology students are less knowledgeable just because their expertise differs from other fields is what makes us less knowledgeable. At the end of the day, every profession has its own purpose and significance. Remember, no society can function without law enforcement, just as it cannot function without doctors, lawyers, engineers, and teachers. So instead of tearing people down or judging them for what they do or what they don't know why not uplift and respect each other's thoughts because class isn't defined by intelligence alone it is how you treat others that really matters and I hope that answers Let me know if you want to add anything more personal!

also can we not include politics to everything? what's the point of watching a concert and then suddenly mentioning what political side they're on and if one of them disagree magkakaawayan over political views..

I agree with you. Additionally, I would also like to add something to the matter of epistemic authority. When we talk about epistemic authority we should ask ourselves which beliefs or systems we use and examine if these beliefs are truly fit for us and explore other ways of knowing. I recommend everyone to learn more about decolonial or anti-colonial studies. I think one of the biggest crimes in academe is when they try to heavily favor one way of knowing (i.e. Eurocentric epistemology). For example, I am a civil engineering student and I often notice how the structural code of the Philippines is heavily Americanized like 80 to 90 percent is from America and then 100 percent is not of us. Another issue with Eurocentric epistemology is that it has the tendency to separate sciences. For example, it wants the researcher to separate social sciences and hard sciences. This is displayed by British Empire when they used this very idea to extend their influence around the world. It is very like them to instill such ideas, as they did divide many people. You don't have to separate sciences, other civilizations have done so and they have strong scholarly culture. For example, the Ottoman Empire's steam engine which was centuries ahead of Britain's. The difference is that Ottomans used it to make Kebab while Britain used it to destroy cultures. Another example would be the civilization that made Isfahan which used Islamic beliefs and translated it into this beautiful place of worship. Or when precolonial Cebu and its neighbors made houses that respected nature. Or how Turkic people used nomadic homes as a way to honor nature and find other places to go about their living. While engineering epistemology of settler Europe that heavily favors resource intensive ways of making homes--- disrespectful to nature btw and cannot be reused. To further prove my point that settler Europe's way is not all superior, it took them centuries to rationalize in science terms that disassembly of structures is good for the industry and environment while Turkic people and Asians have already embodied this truth.------
