My experience as investor and entrepreneur in Kenya for years has been horrific for the government side. Kenyans are amazing & so resilient, and patient! I got conned by white collar criminals tied to biggest bank and Nairobi County, and the government agencies are either completely corrupted and/or incompetent, or hollowed out. The DCI (basically FBI of police) has been suppressing ODPP (criminal justice investigation) requests for evidence for 7 months now. Overseeing agencies on corruption and police oversight all contacted, all either not replying, non-functional, or barely responsive. Absolutely hollowed out government agencies. And the surveys on corruption show ~97% of corruption cases remain unreported. It’s because corruption is everywhere and there is no rule of law or accountability for anything if you pay enough. I got conned by CEO thomas joseph mboya omoni ogutu, who teamed up with director of technology (c level!) of largest bank of Kenya, dennis volemi and person directly responsible for largst money flow of Kenya, charles kerich the CEC of Nairobi County (!!!). All signed agreements granting me shares, board and director status were not honored, demand letters ignored, and ogutu blunty lied in sworn affidavit to the judge. He told me “you don’t need a good lawyer if you know the judge.” and walks around with a loaded gun even on the premise we shared as neighbors, Enaki Town. He seems completely paranoid and psychopathic, lies and has to be afraid the people he conned come after him. He send me xenophobic threats to avoid compensating me. “Get out og my country” style (see my other posts) all while he is proud all his six adult children live in US or Europe! The hypocrisy of the Kenyan elite and politicians is on full display every day. They lie and loot, and abduct and kill any opposition. I was abducted almost as well, but avoided the trap last minute. And internationally the elite and politicians have the sole visibility. No Kenyan can speak up, and foreigners are afraid or think it’s “an African issue”…all while colonialism was perpetuated via the Kenyan elite. We need to speak up. The Kenyan citizens suffer, and many foreigners get conned, too, yet don’t speak up.
