More than $146 million has funded research through the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The wider total also supports education and medical services. Evelyn Lauder launched the campaign in 1992 and helped create the pink ribbon. Her son, William Lauder, represents the family in today’s announcement. The company’s foundation recently announced another $15 million over five years to study breast cancer in younger women, including why cases are increasing and how to improve detection and treatment.
