@offenceregister: Doctors would recommend withdrawing Christa Pikes life-sustaining treatment It has now been well over 72 hours since Tennessee’s botched execution of Christa Pike, meaning the initial lethal dose of pentobarbital should be clearing her bloodstream, yet she remains unconscious on mechanical ventilation due to profound secondary trauma. When executioners repeatedly missed her veins and forced two massive doses into surrounding soft tissue, they triggered a severe subcutaneous depot effect, causing the highly alkaline chemical to pool and continuously seep into her circulation over multiple days while causing localized tissue necrosis. More critically, the prolonged, hour-long ordeal severely depressed her respiration, subjecting her brain to an extended period of anoxia where oxygen starvation causes irreversible cellular death and dangerous cerebral swelling that persists regardless of drug clearance. Coupled with the fact that massive barbiturate overdoses routinely trigger acute pulmonary oedema, filling the lungs with fluid and causing severe respiratory distress, intensive care teams must maintain a medically induced coma and ventilator support to prevent multi-organ collapse, proving that clearing the chemical from the body is entirely separate from surviving the catastrophic internal trauma left in its wake. The clinical odds of returning to a baseline or "normal" state of cognitive and neurological function after this type of trauma are exceptionally low. Odds wise of her recovering is < 1%, however clinicians cite that number to acknowledge that exceptional biological anomalies occasionally occur in medical literature, not that there is a genuine, realistic likelihood of recovery. In standard clinical practice, under an identical set of physiological facts, a non-incarcerated patient who suffered prolonged anoxia, massive toxic chemical trauma, and multi-organ failure, intensive care physicians would almost certainly initiate discussions about withdrawing life-sustaining treatment (allowing a natural death). #ChristaPike #Tennessee #execution

So in other words she got the death penalty. Just delayed. Maybe she suffered as much as her victim and her family.

The state of Tennessee is gonna be paying for her life support until her caregiver redeemed it appropriate to unplug her. The doctors don’t have the right to make that decision. Only her caregiver does who she’s designated.

This is sick. She is suffering beyond human ethics. My sick dog went down in seconds. Why are they letting her suffer like this.

It can take up to 10 days for the drugs to leave her body.

If she was breathing the whole time it’s possible she’ll recover fully despite what AI man says. They gave her a massive amount and it needs to be cleared from her system naturally
