my favorite phrase to use at work when our gen ed students are questioning things about our babies on the spectrum is “(name) is still learning!! they would probably love to play with you, why don’t you show them what you’re playing with!” because it still gives the littles a bit of explanation on why they might not be responding like they’re expecting but still helping bridge that gab of play for them 🤍

It’s always good to help fill the script and just be available. At the end of it all you’re looking out for the best for your daughter and helping her with those tough social situations is going to make it easier in the future.
