@vanityfair: “In some sense, it has no real power.” Today, Vanity Fair’s New Establishment list returns for the first time in nearly a decade. In the top spot: OpenAI cofounder and CEO Sam Altman. Vanity Fair’s global editorial director Mark Guiducci sat down with Altman for interviews in San Francisco, the first time on September 11 and again on October 2. Over the course of these conversations, Altman discusses his views on Donald Trump, the midterms, Xi Jinping’s state visit, ChatGPT and suicide prevention, safety breaches, the film ‘Artificial,’ in which Andrew Garfield plays him, OpenAI president Greg Brockman’s political motivations, and the real risk of extinction—along with much more. Watch the two-part interview at our link in bio.

This is not a human being. You do a disservice to the world by allowing him to leave your building breathing. You’re all enemies of the state

ultimately the government and its contractors (open ai, google, meta) cannot regulate themselves.. we need a external nonprofit entity such as the ICC who can transparently regulate them & themselves, but it’s a difficult debate whether such a entity is too idealistic or impossible, which in my opinion is a excuse a narriative often pushed by dweebs like altman
