💚💚FOSTER PENDING💚💚 🚨 ADOPT/RESCUE – SPACE 🚨 💔 Baxter needs placement by 10/06 at 11 AM CST 💔 🐾 Baxter A1297770 🎂 2 years old 💙 Neutered Male ⚖️ 51 lbs 🦟 Heartworm Positive 🏠 Owner Surrender – Personal Issues 🔗 Adopets: https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/e8bf1b3b-f10d-4c78-abfa-d4878ff93926 Baxter is a laid-back, gentle guy who tends to keep to himself and feels most comfortable observing from the sidelines. He can be timid and nervous in new situations and will need someone patient who understands that he may need time to decompress, build trust, and feel secure. Volunteers have described Baxter as timid, avoidant, and fearful, but he has not shown negative behavior toward people. He has allowed staff into his kennel and has remained relaxed even when unsure of what was happening. He may simply be overwhelmed by the shelter environment and needs someone willing to give him the time and space he deserves. ❤️ 🐶 With other dogs: Baxter has been tolerant in playgroup and tends to keep to himself. He has not shown much interest in greeting or playing with other dogs yet, but he was assessed as Social/DG – Dainty & Gentle. He was also successfully cohoused with Hallie A1296175 on 9/19. 🩺 MEDICAL: Baxter is heartworm positive and has documented hair loss over his body, with a possible wound on his right paw. His adoption exam was completed 9/3, and he received routine vaccines, flea/heartworm prevention, and Pyrantel. He was presented for neuter surgery on 9/30. ⚠️ Due to shelter capacity, Baxter is currently at risk for euthanasia. He urgently needs an adopter, foster, or approved rescue to step forward before his deadline. 🏡 Adopt: dasadopt@dallas.gov 🐾 Foster: dasfoster@dallas.gov (DFW-area foster offers) 🚨 Rescue tag: dasrescue@dallas.gov If you can help Baxter, please email as soon as possible and include a callback phone number so the shelter team can reach you promptly. 📍 Dallas Animal Services 1818 N.
