I hate how ppl act like katara didn’t experience a genocide. Her culture as the last southern water bender was damn near destroyed. The only difference between Aang and Katara is the fact that aang is the LAST living air bender while Katara is the last water bender of the southern tribe and the fact she saw the genocide up close.

I’m perfectly fine with aang being selfish, his story was very much based around him being the avatar and having to give up his life to save others, him not being selfish is literally written in the story so you feel bad for him, I want him to be selfish (didn’t watch the movie just to clear stuff up if I’m missing something)

They were literally almost there and is the victim of his entire race being genocide pretty much there is not one Airbender left on the planet other than him. It would’ve been more dangerous if they turned back it’s pretty reasonable to want to bring back your race that you’ve been warned philosophy for the past 10 years.
