QuesoYummm :

Hi folks. My father, Robert Dube, owned and lived in Maplecroft, the house Lizzie Borden lived in after she was acquitted, for over 30 years. I grew up sleeping every night in Lizzie’s summer bedroom (where arguably she passed and yes I have stories). Anyhow, I am about to sell/auction this marble bust which was in the living room of Maplecroft for most of the time my father lived there. No, it was not original to Lizzie, but it might be the closest you’re going to get to an item that soaked in the Lizzie Maplecroft mojo. This statue moved from the south east corner of the living room to the left of the fireplace mantle in the living room over time as my dad felt like slightly rearranging. The sideways photo shows the statue. You can see the living room wallpaper which was original Lizzie wall paper behind it. The writing on the paper is my father’s handwriting with details on the statues background. In the photo with the second bust, you can see that second bust is just to the left of the living room fireplace mantle. The same wall paper is behind both. That was original wall paper that Lizzie had put into the living room. I had to swap these busts positions a number of times over the years at my father’s request. I can provide research on the artist of the bust at the time of sale. If anyone is interested, please let me know before I send it to auction.
