He could be frozen like Cap was. The Howling Commandos are liberating Hydra facilities, they attack a Hydra bio-lab where they are studying human mutations in DNA, young Eric is in one of these labs being experimented on after being moved from an internment camp and is frozen by hydra and hidden so as to not lose a potential weapon. Obviously it’s secret among hydra officers and later on Eric could be thawed. It’s not a difficult concept

Magneto was introduced in the 60s. his origin was introduced in the 80s. gotta have a different origin story for the new movies. slow aging is another mutation which magneto never had so that's a no. put under ice is a no. be a survivor during Bosnia War would work.

I think the character gets stronger the longer he’s been fighting the battle. They should just make it that he has his own electromagnetic field that makes them age slower because his atoms aren’t interacting with the rest of the world just like how he doesn’t get affected by rogues power.

I don't think his origin needs to be changed but at the same time if it stays the same in the mcu it would make him extremely old especially if they keep the years the same as in the real world.

I do ask if theres eventually a point where we can't really use him in any comics/movies because of the refusal to re-adapt his story [I'm not saying we should or need to. This is a thought exercise to get ppl thinking about the character & what it means to have a legacy attached to it like Magneto's & the question of if "ship of theseus"ing him is just what we'll HAVE to do if we want to keep adapting X-Men media or not]

I think it’s more because he’ll be 90+ years old, they’ll need to change it or find a loophole for it to work in 2027+ like slow aging, time travel or smt

I think they could change it in a way that still helps other victims of genocide/oppression to be heard. Or even have him be the direct descendant of someone who survived WWII and have him grasp what it was like living in a world after so much death and destruction of culture. It def shouldn’t be forgotten, but they can def change it in a meaningful way that’s not disrespectful to his origin
