@nealkshah: Why healthy 60 yr olds suddenly DECLINE? Ever notice how someone at 60 seems fine one year, then suddenly slows down the next? It feels like it happens overnight, but the truth is, it's usually years in the making. Here's what's really going on. After 50, we lose muscle mass faster, often 1 to 2 percent every year. Add a more sedentary routine, poor sleep, and less protein, and the decline quietly builds until one day climbing stairs or getting out of a chair feels harder than it should. Other hidden factors play a big role too. Stress, chronic inflammation, loneliness, and skipped doctor visits all pile on. Many people also stop challenging their balance and strength, so the body adapts to doing less. The good news? It's not inevitable. Strength training just two or three times a week, walking daily, eating enough protein, sleeping well, and staying socially connected can dramatically slow this slide. Even people who start at 60 or 70 see real improvements. Your body responds to what you ask of it. Ask for more, and it will give you more. Watch the full reel to learn the early warning signs and simple habits you can start today. Share this with someone you love who needs to hear it, and tag a parent or friend who is 60 or approaching it. Your future self will thank you. #HealthyAging #SeniorHealth #StrengthAfter60

I think for women, it’s menopause that’s the beginning of the decline

I am 66 and in June I got a very sick from bronchitis. I was in bed for 10 days. All I wanted to do was sleep. Exhausted. But after 10 days, I forced myself to get up and resume my physical activities: walking the dog, cleaning the house, even going to the gym to lift light weights and do yoga. It was hard. I’m fine now. This message reassures me that I did the right thing

If you’ve lost a lot of muscle mass can it be regained via exercise?

Tbh I’m so fed up. As a woman, what’s the effing point? We go through periods, childbirth, complications with childbirth, then menopause, I’m sick of the straw I drew.

75 yrs old with severe arthritis. Walking, sitting and standing is just painful to do. This afternoon, I assemble an ATV Walker so I can walk around our neighborhood. Being able to stop and sit down on the walker is a big plus. We don't have sidewalks. My dog will really appreciate taking walks with me again.

The trouble is hospital will confine the patient to bed for weeks especially for elderly stroke patients. Even the bowel movements are confined on beds as nurses are busy in wards.
