We ordered brown bread for a sandwich in Florida and the waitress had no idea what that was. I explained that we call it brown because of the color. I learned they call it white or wheat…even though white is wheat too.

First time I went to Florida as a kid I was maybe 11 and a girl at the hotel pool asked me about living in igloos and all these other crazy questions like if we had power and at that very young age I realized how uneducated they were. I’ve been back a couple times as an adult and still got crazy questions. I told the one person that our igloos melt in the summer and we all become homeless

I will never forget crossing the border into the US and going through duty free where they ask you for your licence plate and my dad said C,X,Z (Zed) and the worker said “I don’t have that letter”.
