@jwb82: 🚨 BREAKING DEVASTATING NEWS: BORDER AGENTS BEGIN CUTTING ANCIENT “GRANDMOTHER TREE” AS DEFENDERS ARE INJURED 🌳 For 71 days, land defenders have maintained a 24/7 tree-sit to protect the Grandmother Tree, an ancient cottonwood estimated to be more than 200 years old, from destruction for border-wall construction in Arizona. This morning, Border Patrol agents entered the encampment, arrested defenders and began cutting the tree. Organizers say defenders were tackled, pushed into barbed wire and injured during the arrests. Three other ancient cottonwoods at this site were already cut down this summer.
