Yes if the person is on the standard UK spouse/partner family visa route and married to a British citizen, the normal settlement route is: 5 years of continuous residence on the qualifying spouse/partner route eligible to apply for ILR. There is no 3-year ILR route simply because the spouse is British. Once ILR is granted, a person married to a British citizen can generally apply for British citizenship without waiting another 12 months, provided they meet the citizenship requirements, including the residence and absence requirements.
