It’s always been a data center since Cincinnati Bell days. It used to be owned by Cincinnati Bell and then they rented it out from Duke Energy, then Duke Energy bought the building, so they could store their equipment there and then from there it was rented out to Cyrus one with Cincinnati Bell still having a part of everything there. Keep in mind not all data centers are necessarily bad and data center is a broad umbrella. Because in order for you to get this TikTok uploaded, you probably needed a data center; it’s an umbrella term for also a endpoint for Internet. The way that the Internet works is they have a “trunk line” that runs into one spot and disperses out from there. Also, I think it’s funny that you’re against data centers, but then use a data center heavy/AI heavy app to upload it to… I’m just calling the kettle black…

I seriously recommend everyone to educate what a data center does. If you are against ever data center even the well established ones that have been running for quite a few years then you need to completely cut your internet usage. Every site (including this one!) needs a center. Where do you think any of this is stored? If you understand what is needed and what isn’t then you’ll be able to tackle the real problems like the mega data centers or the fact a ton of farm land is being bought. You are putting eyes on a useless issue here, there are many issues with Florence and this entire country. We need to fight intelligently and efficiently.

That dc has been there forever, datacenters have been around for years and years and aren’t going anywhere. The mega data centers is what we don’t want, think of a data center the size of all of Mall Rd.

On site cooling lol😂 everyone has on sight cooling. Cooling of that size building would require chillers, chillers require cooling towers. Cooling towers and chiller require clean potable water that evaporate through the cooling process and continues to use tap water
