Makes no sense cause the cleaning is mainly for the plaque in the back, the braces is in the front their not cleaning that area, and I’ve gotten cleaning with braces on everything was clean

If your hygienist cannot give you a proper cleaning with your ties and wires in then you need a new hygienist or find one that uses a Cavitron. I work in dental. Only time this is necessary is if you need a deep cleaning.

My dentist told me to remove them before cleanings. If I absolutely can’t they will clean around them but they have always said to remove them before cleanings to get that better cleaning.

I never get mine removed, but I get cleanings every 4 months instead of every 6 months with braces

my dentist told me to do this! he was honest with me and said “i can clean with the wires in but i can get a better cleaning without them”. i never considered it

I would recommend to make sure your routine cleaning (dentist appointment) either right after they take your wire and rubber bands off ,or a few days later because your teeth will shift with out the wire been in
