Please call the shelters first and ask. I took 4 bags of ice to the shelter in San Pedro they were very confused. And they actually told me if I’d take it home 🙃 They said they have an actual ice machine. And they don’t just throw ice in their kennel. I don’t know they seemed kind of rude.

North Central Animal Shelter on Lacy St. is taking ice donations! They said they’ll be accepting all week and are in need of a lot of ice! (:

Fostering is just as helpful - even if it’s only for the week/weekend. Get these doggies into AC!

I tried calling van nuys before I went to drop off yesterday, they seemed weird about it. I couldn't get through and opt for the call back, but no one called back before I headed over there because it was closest to where I was at. I brought in the ice and a older volunteer seemed annoyed. then someone finally helped direct me to put it on a cart in the sun. I walked around to say hi to all the dogs and it was still untouched on the cart when I left. 🥺 it didn't seem organized or friendly. I foster for a rescue, 8 dogs this year so far. I think I'll stick to that. going out of my way to feel like a burden and I wasted my money, no thankyou. I don't expect a pat on the back. but I seriously felt like people were avoiding me and there was a vibe of unhappiness and annoyance there.

🐾🆘 Long Beach & SoCal! 🏖️Please share, foster, or adopt at the Long Beach, CA Animal Shelter on Spring St. The shelter is full and needs your help! 🐾 especially right now with the heatwave [Teary eyed] the kennels are so hot 🥵

The people at LA animal services suck and have no idea why people are doing this. You literally have to tell them to please throw it in their kennels.

Thank You to Everyone who can help - 🐾 Most of these shelters are outdoor concrete corridor of cages - no AC or anywhere for the dogs to seek shade.

you should get pet ice, as ice made for humans is not healthy for animals
