Ten weeks ago the agent harness barely existed as a category. Now every lab has shipped one, they are all free and open source, and they do the job you pay Copilot, Cursor and Devin for. DeepSeek Harness is the one that broke the internet: over 170,000 stars and 19,000 forks in its first week, built so that everything is a plugin, and it starts with a single npx command. Their README is refreshingly honest that it is a developer preview and things will break. Grok Build is xAI's, Apache 2.0, a full screen terminal agent that edits files, runs shell commands and searches the web, and it runs interactively, headless in CI, or embedded in your editor. OpenWorker is Andrew Ng's and it is the odd one out, because it is not for coding at all: it is a desktop coworker that hands back finished work instead of chat, a written document or a triaged inbox, and it runs fully local on Ollama if you want. QM is from Y Combinator and it is the clever one, a harness that drives other harnesses, so Pi, OpenCode, Codex and Claude Code all run on the same core, with an isolated workspace per person. And MiMoCode is Xiaomi's, where the whole point is memory that survives between sessions instead of relearning your codebase every morning. Save this and go star your favorite. Repos: 1.
