Andrew Lutaaya :
I think you are confusing personal admiration with an objective assessment of musicianship. Chameleone is undoubtedly one of Uganda’s most influential and accomplished musicians, and his catalogue deserves enormous respect, but declaring that no Ugandan musician dead or alive can match his musicianship is an unnecessarily absolute statement that you have not demonstrated. Music is not measured by discography alone, musicianship encompasses composition, harmony, melody, rhythm, instrumental ability, vocal technique, arrangement, improvisation, live performance, innovation and cultural contribution. Uganda has produced exceptional musicians across all these areas, many of whom can challenge Chameleone depending on the criteria being used. You are entitled to call him your greatest, but presenting your personal ranking as an unquestionable fact does more to weaken your argument than strengthen it. Appreciate Chameleone without rewriting the history and diversity of Ugandan music just to elevate one artist
