@extreme_w3ather: A disturbance in the Gulf now has a 60% chance of becoming a tropical depression or storm within 48 hours, and 80% within 7 days, according to the National Hurricane Center. Forecasters expect a low to form mid-week, and it could approach the northern Gulf Coast late this week or this weekend, but the track is still uncertain and strong wind shear may keep it from getting strong. Heavy rain and flooding are possible from Louisiana to Florida. The Atlantic still hasn't had a single hurricane this year.
