“All a child needs is love” YES, of course …… AND, I am not well if I can’t provide what I believe to be necessary to set my child up for success. Swim lessons, museum trips, music class, educational toys, healthy & nutritional foods & were barely walking over here. We haven’t gotten to school yet, sports, family trips - honeyyyyy!!!

Private schools, school supplies, tutoring, extracurriculars, birthdays, Christmas, future cars at 16, college tuition and even if they get full ride college shopping bedding fridges etc it is very expensive when you choose to raise them this way, I can afford my two just fine but I wouldn’t want to have more and compromise that perhaps I couldn’t pay their college or I couldn’t buy them a car or that I couldn’t have them in private school etc

Think it depend on the tax bracket . Because if I were to shop at Walmart as a millionaire vs shopping at Walmart middle class , it’s not the same . Also , overspending comes into play. I buy what’s needed and that’s it . I was sick of clothes with tags just sitting in the closet .

When my mom says people nowadays have “such a hard time with kids” and “it was so easy” for her - she was a bare minimum parent!! I told her parents are a lot more aware of children’s development and what they need and that’s why it’s harder now. .

Kids aren’t expensive- it’s the parents that are the problem. My kids lack nothing and have more than 90% of kids their age. It’s not them being expensive it’s me having the money and spending on them.
