This is the crash that happened today - Monday Oct 5th 2026 in Igbokoda, Ilaje LGA, Ondo State. A Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft with tail number NGR 931 carrying *25 passengers + 7 crew = 32 people* on board was flying from Benin to Lagos. It lost contact with air traffic control at 0813 GMT and crashed near the Naval Base in Igbokoda. Wreckage has been found in a swampy area and search and rescue is ongoing. 93c6 *The official cause is NOT yet known.* President Tinubu has ordered a full investigation and the Air Force is leading it. Weather - Igbokoda is a coastal, riverine area. Heavy rain, low clouds, strong winds or poor visibility this morning could be a factor. Human Error / Operational - Crew Resource Management, decision to continue flight despite warning signs - the 2013 report blamed poor professional conduct and ignoring warnings - Air traffic control communication loss - Minister Keyamo said all efforts to raise the aircraft on radio proved abortive 6c4cc5c1 4. Loss of Communication & Navigation - The fact that controllers lost contact at 9:13am suggests possible electrical or radio failure before the crash. For now, no casualty number has been officially confirmed.
