The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office says its election vendor, Runbeck Election Services, mistakenly released the ballots to the U.S. Postal Service. The ballots were supposed to be mailed on October 7, when early voting officially begins. Trump responded by attacking the county’s handling of elections, calling Maricopa County “very, VERY dishonest” and saying officials “should be ASHAMED of themselves.” County officials, however, say the mistake involved only the timing. According to Recorder Justin Heap, the correct ballots were sent to the correct registered voters, and the county attorney’s office determined that the ballots remain valid.
