Right after I finished NP school I had the weirdest time getting adjusted. No school, no homework, no clinicals, no studying, no direction, it was just weird. I honestly didn't know how to function. I had the worst brain fog and I was exhausted for like a month. I just slept and kept freaking out that I forgot an assignment or missed a deadline, even though it was all over. Then again after I passed boards, I went through another mini weird headspace moment. We just become so accustomed to go, go, go all the time that stopping feels so unnatural. I did the same thing as you, worked less, focused on me, my family, my house, my LIFE more and worked way less while I went through credentialing (which takes FOREVER, btw). Once I finally started working as an NP I felt clear headed, refreshed and actually excited to go to work. It has been a little over 9 months since I passed boards but it feels like centuries ago. I am so comfortable at work, my schedule is seriously so amazing, more pay, less stress and life is just so good now. I don't member when the switch happened, but I DO remember the stress so I continue to prioritize life and family over work and have not been happier amd HEALTHIER in a long, long time. You'll get there. It feels like you won't, but you will. Just keep taking the time to prioritize yourself, you deserve it 🥰
