Mr. Tedla, though I don’t buy your narrative, how about the argument that relates Ethiopia as the place where the ancestors of humans lived and scattered through out the world. Do you buy that? I think a mix of race a phenomenon through out human history and the rhetoric you presented is part of the legacy of feudal/ mesafint era trying to make themselves unique from the vast majority of ethiopian people as well as the rest of africans, there is a tint of racism in it. You know there was a story widely told during Hailesilase time a noble lady from the palace heard a news that said the population of Ethiopia raised to 35 milloion. She said “ እኛኮ በዛን ቢባል 500 አንሞላም አሰሱን ገሰሱን እየቆጠራችሁ ነው እንዴ አሉ ይባላል” just saying the theory behind is racism.

Today, Black is a global identity and social construct shaped by the African diaspora connecting people whose ancestors were dispersed through the slave trade or modern migration. Ultimately, being African doesn’t automatically mean being Black, and vice versa

eliquantly and factually explained.but what does it serve africans now to talk about which catagorization fits us best, when our destiny is totaly depends on whst we now do instead of these endless loop thats going no where.look the comment section sir. lij tedla ,the internet is a jungle full op people with diffrent caliber of critical thinking ability and other unsolved political agenda,so its not constructive to go about these issues when what is important is to unify people to work through what is beneficial for the collective, for all east africans to come to terms with themselves to uplift society and overall progress.its sad no part of the world engage in these issues than we africans, and right now we are not competstive, unified or prodactive, this issues for me are worthless distractions,we must disengage, focus and teach all in east africa to build in unison for all,for the sake of future genetation.amen
we are mix i can't say boldly am african when my DNA 54 % middle east my looks hair they don't accepted me the west african the black amrican can't tell me who i am am north Ethiopian south Ethiopia u are black talk about ur self never say we Ethiopian

Black is not a biological race. Black is a social construct that has been used to create stratification for human beings. You just wanted to seize this moment to spew your hatred and prejudice. You are obsessed with the idea of Amhara supremacy that you keep on regurgitating the narrative of Sabean ancestors. Dawit Muluneh is correct in pinpointing the origin of the non-black image of ‘Ethiopians’ as the white people of Africa i.e., following the defeat of a white army by an African military.

Well articulated ✍️what about tribes like Silte, Hadiya, Harari, Argoba and Alaba….? Their skin color is even more lighter than northern Ethiopian tribes. These people are from south Ethiopia they are not Highlander. How did this happen?

my question is why do you believe the idea of our DNA came from the what colonizers called middle east, why cant it be whats so called middle easterns came from us, since east africans are the are the earliest humans. i agree with the idea of subscribing for the politicians aspect of the color, however, its the reality of the planet we live in. also the name habesha doesn't have anything to do with skin color, or tribe or race, it just mean the people who live in the highlands. at the end of the day we are Proud Black Africans
