Why do we love Samus? Easy. She's a badass who came to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and she's all out of bubblegum. She rarely talks, not because she can't, but because she doesn't need to. She just does what has to be done. Fun fact: in the first Metroid nobody even knew she was a woman until the very end. Everyone already respected her by then. That's a real girl boss. She never had to tell anyone she was strong. She just was.

It’s like why show Marcus and Dom front and center of the box art but have a random ass character who’s never been mentioned in the previous games be the focus for important discoveries, moments, cutscenes and dialogue??

This criticism is so much better. Mags was written poorly, she isn't woke or a girl boss, it's just that she doesn't have anything unique to her that makes her standout. Not to mention she's a throw away which is unfortunate

for the people saying they're just hating because woman; the other gears games under the og devs had prominent women and no one had an issue with it. in fact people were upset one of them was killed off screen. but the writing was BETTER

Hating on the game or character bc you simply dislike the writing is fine. Hating on it bc you don't like that they added a girl character in the game is weird af. Thats the controversy going on rn. People aren't saying the game is bad bc the writing is bad in their opinion, their saying its bad bc they don't feel like a woman should be in it.

This campaign was phenomenal, best since gow 3, this campaign was written well, the atmosphere, the lore, it was great… my only gripe is the open world sections I didn’t love… mags has good writing, if you actually knew gears you’d know the the pendulum wars were awful, almost their Vietnam in a way, so her trauma is valid considering she was a medic in that war, she has asthma because she also worked with imulsion, she has rust lung… your only gripe is she’s gay and it was done well in this game, trust me I hate woke stuff being forced but this wasn’t forced, there was ONE 4 second scene of her holding a picture that implied she was gay, and we got the message and they never brang it up again
