@velmoriaq: velmoraia + READ + Frederick Matthias Alexander was born in 1869 in Tasmania, Australia. From an early age, he developed a deep interest in the relationship between the mind and body, eventually becoming an actor and reciter. His career took an unexpected turn when he began experiencing recurring problems with his voice during performances. Unable to find a lasting solution through conventional treatment, Alexander carefully observed himself while speaking and performing. He gradually discovered that unconscious habits in posture and movement were affecting his breathing and voice. This led him to develop what became known as the Alexander Technique, a method centered on awareness, posture, movement, and the conscious reduction of harmful habits. Alexander later moved to London, where he taught his method and gained recognition among actors, musicians, and other performers. His work attracted students who were interested not only in improving physical coordination, but also in understanding how habitual patterns influence everyday life. At the heart of Alexander's philosophy was the idea that our repeated actions shape who we become. We may not be able to control every circumstance that determines our future, but we can influence the habits we practice every day. F. M. Alexander died in 1955 in London at the age of eighty-six. His work continues through Alexander Technique teachers and practitioners around the world, particularly in fields involving performance, movement, and physical awareness.
