My theory is that Noah was manipulating John into not killing him. He learned from Zoe that killing the Green Lanterns only increases the danger, but now he has John as a protector. And the yellow laced lantern was always meant for John or Hal as a poison pill

Oh and there are examples of different GL’s with their own personalized oath. When the oath was first established it was written as a thing Hal came up with himself.

I think Jon not killing Noah comes down to the story. Jon told Carrie about his mom. His mom was afraid. Carrie was afraid. I think it comes down to Jon seeing himself in Noah and the mirror between their two experiences. They were both being raised to be something. But ultimately, he knew Noah has a choice in that just as much as Jon did when he turned down the ring. I don’t think he would’ve walked away from Noah and left him alive if he hadn’t gone through that experience and turned down the ring.

I really like this characterization of Guy. He’s having to do serious brand rehabilitation because of these two and I think it justifies his anger with John in the final episodes. I thought John was kind of out pocket talking to him the way he was in that final conversation. 😂

she didn't intend to kill Hal, it was clearly an impulsive choice borne out of fear and a need to protect her son (the same compulsion the man hunter had to struggle with), do we punish her for the mistake? 🤷🏼♂️it gets kinda blurry, and the show clearly wants to give her a pass by saying Hal is ok with it

I think Guy doesn't fight back because despite being full of himself, he knows John is right, and that John would make a great lantern. Whereas he stepped up to Superman because at that time there was sufficient evidence for Guy to believe that Clark was a threat.

I think Guy didn't push for several reasons. Even if he can take John right now, does he want a fight in town between two people with rings? I also think despite how he presents, he does have a respect for Hal and John. John talked crazy but he did solve the murder and gave closure. From guys perspective, John is a decent and capable man, even if he doesn't like him. Also it's unclear if the guardians know about guy stealing hals ring, they could just as easily blame sinestro.

I think Guy let John talk to him like that is because Guy wouldn’t have been the green lantern without John giving it up, and if there was any contest, the guardians would choose John over Guy any day of the week

I think John could have handled the situation better. I mean, letting the woman who just killed her boyfriend raise the demon child? With people like Mister Terrific around or a whole universe full of super-geniuses, why not at least try to see if it’s possible to literally delete the program? He’s leaving too much to chance, and leaving Sinestro on the planet... just tell the Guardians you captured him or something! Ugh.
