i just lost my beautiful boy just over a week ago🥺 he was an 8y/o great dane X mastiff & he was my soul dog. He was born on my bday, but my daughters year of birth, and i always felt like that had to mean something. i was pregnant when i got him, so training him wasnt very regular.. but his gentle nature & the way he was you would think there was alot of training. i couldnt of asked for a better dog, he was my best friend, and still is. He grew up with me, he was with me achieving alot of mt firsts when i was coming into adulthood. & to say im absolutely shattered is an understatement, i have to try stay strong for my daughter, but i tell you its harder than id ever imagined. im in the guilt stage of grief, the selfish stage of wishing he was still here with me😔 i know theres others going through the same thing but for some reason i still question all the "whys" and "what ifs"... forever my bruiser boy❤️

When my childhood dog died it was soooo still in the house and we was so oZ because this house was a happy and loud house . Since we got another puppy , not a replacement. Our house is full of love again . We could never replace my childhood dog

It’s the moment you come home to put their bowls away the leash. Figuring out what to do with all their toys. With the leftover food. It’s the quiet at night when you could hear them breath and flop around. It’s the smell of their blanket. It’s when you come home and there’s no one to greet you. When you drop something and they are not there to lick it up. No one’s head in your lap as you watch Tv. Finding a bone they buried months ago. The last time picking up after them in the yard.

When I lost my cats,I thought I needed at least an year to even consider getting other cats,but the second day of silence drove me insane so I went and adopted 4 cats.Maybe it was rushed,but I don't regret getting them,I couldn't deal with the silence in the house.

When we got our now dog, I felt unfair to him because I just didn't love him like I loved our first, my soul dog. It took some time for me to come around but now I love the silly goof. But it will never replace the love I have for my Frank. Here is a picture of my angel 🩵

I truly believed I would never get another dog after my heart dog passed. the day she passed I lost it. I broke into a million pieces. that same day someone was rehoming a puppy that was IDENTICAL to her. I knew it was crazy but I picked her up. she helped me get up out of bed everyday. she hugged me when I would break down for my other dog. she didnt replace her, but she saved me.
