Partying, bars, encounters are everywhere. The answer is not to tell your kids to not to be a part of life, it’s building a foundation were they are strong, independent, vocal and understanding that good decisions start the minute you step out the door. My kids went to big schools, were part of Greek row, graduated, and one is in the film industry, the same one I’ve been in for 35 plus years. That industry is full of possible issues like this - notorious, as a matter of fact. Should I have dissuaded her from getting her degree in film production? No. That’s not reality. You learn how to handle yourself and make the right decisions early on. Sheltering is out of the question, laying the strong, moral, ethical foundation as they grow is how to let go when they become adults - because they’re going to be around it one way or the other, at some point in their life.
