FULL transparency - this is genuinely what I spent and made during my first full month of being self-employed in 2024 I even went back in my records and did the math This obviously depends on a LOT of factors like where you live, how you’re running your business, etc. 💖My journey: I was very lucky when I started - I found my first ever “client” through indeed and cleaned her house 3x a week for $20/hour - this was not through my business but it was still self employed cleaning work so I do count it! I was usually there for 6-8 hours 3x a week - she was a dog breeder so it was the perfect job for me and their house was always messy (considering they had atleast 10 dogs at a time + 3-5 litters of puppies) I spent my time there organizing, cleaning, picking up, doing laundry, taking care of the dogs and puppies and doing all household chores - I pretty much did everything except for cook them meals😅 She had me clean her ex husbands house and her store as well for $20/hour🥸 this family was amazing but there came a point where I felt I didn’t have time to grow my business and it was time to move on It was hard to quit with them but I knew it was time when I dreaded going there After quitting with that family I had a LOT of spots open on my books and started posting RELIGIOUSLY on Nextdoor and Facebook - after doing some one-time cleans and getting word of mouth out I started getting some recurring clients, it is still slow sometimes but I am making enough to live and enjoy life so that’s all I’m worried at the moment🥰
