In 1926, Alabama Power gave electricity a smiling cartoon face, Reddy Kilowatt, "Your Electric Servant." In 1943, Konrad Lorenz explained why it works: baby-like faces make us want to protect, not question. AI needs that right now, because it's starting to read your inbox and spend your money.
