My own father warned his friends not to say anything about his daughters. I asked him what he heard them say about people’s daughter to be so against that? He declined to inform me. It’s no secret to me though.

I cried about this very thing the other day. I grew up with feminist parents in the era of "girl power" media and if you had told little me that when she was pushing 40 culture would regress and women would still be desperately trying to get men to understand that women are people her brain would have imploded. I thought by now we would have come so far.
