I can confirm about the mining story. If they minerals don’t disappear, they will have the animal / symbol that represents that particular tribe or king, and will attack those who are trying to mine

Thank you for sharing. Some Jamaicans believe we have Sirens/Mermaids. We call them 'River Mumma'

I’ve got a conspiracy theory🤭 So you know how Ash said Obed went through the route a while ago and said he was traumatised? What if Obed saw a Mami wata, and insisted he brought Ash and company back🤭

To safely enter certain rivers in the Équateur region, local custom requires performing rituals to ask the water spirits for permission. These rituals often involve bringing offerings, such as throwing salt into the water, to ensure safe passage and respect the spirit world. My mom, who is from the region, also told me that you have to speak directly to the water to greet the spirits before stepping in, and you must always keep a quiet, humble presence to avoid provoking them.

Are there churches? Since you said your family is Christian but witchcraft is so prevalent over there. Mami wata is a demon for sure.

Ppl say they saw Yemaya off the coast of South Carolina this year holding a fish in each hand, descending into the water and then disappeared.

Sirens & mermaids aren’t the same. Sirens are actually half bird. That was their original form. Mermaids are a half fish. Sirens are known to be evil while mermaids aren’t. People use those terms interchangeably which can cause confusion. I don’t really know much about Mami wata however I don’t believe that creatures who are not human are automatically evil or is witchcraft. Witchcraft gets a bad name due to colonization. We have to be careful of the knowledge that we carry and think about where it came from. Rarely do I hear white people demonized their mythical creatures, but Black people do very often. Nonetheless, im enjoying your content on this. I love it actually.
