There is something about uncertainty that can take us to some pretty scary places. The unknowns begin to pile up until they become mountains of fear, and we find ourselves fighting to know the answers, the outcomes, the next steps, and the final picture. We want to see how it all comes together. We want something solid to stand on. We want to know that the pieces we're holding will eventually form a picture that makes sense. But sometimes, all we have are fragmented pieces that simply don't give us enough information to feel certain about anything. And that's where the turmoil begins. Our minds try to fill in the gaps, our fears begin writing stories we cannot possibly know to be true, and before long, we're carrying the weight of outcomes that haven't even happened. Then there is God, who is certain and never changing, who invites us to trust His wisdom and His plan. But if we're honest, sometimes that invitation feels risky. We know what the Bible says. We know we're called to trust Him. But the enemy loves to use our disappointments and unanswered prayers as evidence that trusting God may not be worth the risk. He takes the places where we've been hurt, the prayers that haven't been answered the way we hoped, and the circumstances that still don't make sense, and uses them to plant seeds of doubt. And suddenly, we're standing in the middle of uncertainty, questioning whether we can trust the very One we know to be certain. So what do we do...... We begin again. We return to what we know to be true. We challenge the thoughts that have quietly settled into our minds and started to feel like truth simply because we've been too afraid or too exhausted to confront them. Rewiring your thoughts is not for the faint of heart. It takes work to push back against fear, challenge old patterns, and create new pathways rooted in truth. It means recognizing when our minds are leading us somewhere God never asked us to go and having the courage to redirect them, even when those fearful thoughts feel more convincing than the truth we know. Some days feel like progress. Others feel like we're right back where we started. I wish I could tell you I'm on the other side of this, that the picture is clear and all the pieces finally make sense in my own life. But I'm not. I'm very much still in the middle. Still working through the questions. Still challenging the fears. Still reminding myself of what I know to be true when what I feel is telling me something entirely different. But I think that is important to see... to see the process unfold in someone's life... means you get to see God move in action. And maybe, just maybe... if you are in the middle too - you will feel less alone there. I'm learning that faith doesn't always mean feeling certain. Sometimes, it means choosing to return to Jesus, who is certain, even when we have no idea what comes next. It means trusting His character when we struggle to understand His ways and holding on when the evidence we wish we had simply isn't there. So, for now, I'm holding on. Trusting that even when I can't see the whole picture, God can. And believing that someday, even if it takes longer than I'd like, things may begin to make sense in ways they simply don't right now. And even if I never fully understand the why behind it all, I want to keep trusting the One who sees what I cannot. Until then, I'll keep beginning again. How ever many times it takes. Because maybe the point isn't how many times we have to begin again, but having the determination to recognize when we need to. To know when our thoughts have wandered from truth, when fear has started to lead, and when we need to find our way back to what we know. Beginning again isn't a sign that we've failed. Sometimes, it's the very evidence that we're still fighting for the truth we believe, even when it's hard to hold on to. So I'll keep fighting for that. #FaithAndMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #mentalhealthmatters #griefandhealing
