it's not dangerous unless your pumping it directly into the vains. that same study couldn't get any readings when they simply had the rats and mice drinking and eating it. so they injected the safrole directly into the bloodstream of the rats to get a reaction.

The part I find most interesting is the gap between the animal evidence and the lack of safrole-specific human cancer studies. Knowing that, would you drink traditional sassafras tea?

I’m 67 and when I was a boy us boys would dig up the roots and boil them and add goat milk and sugar and drink it hot. I have a tradition where I drink it every Christmas to honor my neighborhood buddies that have passed on
